Week 2 of training!

Today is my 2nd week of training. I ran 3 miles – on the treadmill :/ It was a little hot, and I wanted to work my legs a bit so had to run at the gym. Does anyone else find they run better outside??
I used to be waaaaaay too intimidated to run outside. I didn’t know where to go, didn’t know what my pace would be, I wouldn’t always have a bathroom…hehe (seriously though, I think I have the smallest bladder in the world). Then I sucked it up & ran outside. I’ve been learning to push myself out of my comfort zone. Believe me, it has NOT been easy. My mom used to tell me constantly I need to come out of my shell. At almost 30 I am finally doing that.
So I found an app that I really love. It’s called Map My Run. I love it cause it has GPS and maps my route, tells me my current distance, pace, speed also gives me an average pace & speed. It also allows you to post your workouts on Facebook & other sites. It does a lot of other things that I never use, but maybe should cause I’m looking at it now and it’s pretty cool! You can listen to music while the app runs too. I never listen to music anymore when I run though, too distracting for me. Well, unless I’m at the gym cause gym music usually sucks.
Speaking of music…I have a new song that I listen to when I’m almost done with my run & I need a little extra push. Kinda embarrassing but I really like “You and I” by Lady Gaga. It’s the only song of hers that I have liked, go listen to it before you talk shit. Or maybe it’s just me that doesn’t like her that much? Too showy & over the top for me, I just want the music ya know? I’ve also been listening to “Cryin” by Aerosmith a lot. I’ll always love that song!

Here is the link if anyone is interested in checking out my run today 🙂

Okay, so this has NOTHING to do with running, but I needed a picture…and I think this is hilarious! And I work with cats all day, AND this is my blog so I’ll do what I want!! 🙂

  1. You are definitely out of your shell, Haley! 🙂 I looked into MapMyRun a couple of years back but since I wasn’t serious about running, I didn’t do anything about it. Maybe now I’ll revisit it!
