For the love of running

Merry Christmas from the State Capitol of California!

I took this picture while on my run tonight. I was super bored after I got off of work (yea, I work holidays. It comes with working at an emergency veterinary hospital) so I decided to go for a Christmas run. It was raining kinda hard when I headed out, but I figured if I can run 26.2 miles in pouring rain and 30 mph winds (see CIM – My first marathon ) today would be nothing! And you know what, I actually like running in the rain. I like that people see me and probably think I’m crazy, I like the rain on my face, and my squishy shoes, I like being so dedicated to something that I just have to do it – even in crappy weather. Currently I am not training for any run, although I have a 10k at the end of February. Tonight I decided to run for the love of running! It was a pretty good run and I am happy to say that I had very little knee pain. It was actually more knee irritation instead of pain. Also, I am happy to say that I ran 3.32 miles yesterday and 3.67 today…almost 7 miles in 2 days! That may not seem like much but that is the most I’ve run since the CIM, and with really no knee pain. All I’ve gotta do is take care of myself (stretching, icing, training properly…) and I’ll be back to my regular running routine & pace in no time!

Here is my route for tonight’s run:

And to end my Christmas night I am watching my SpongeBob Squarepants first season box set. Oh yea!! Great Xmas present, thanks to my mom πŸ™‚ Yea…I really do love SpongeBob that much. I don’t care if I’m almost 30!
