Hello 2015!

Today is the last day of 2014. I’m sure most of us are reflecting on the past year, thinking of things we want to do differently for 2015 and making our New Years Resolutions. Personally I prefer setting goals, but I only started doing that within the past year.

My goals this past year:

  • Become a certified personal trainer
  • Become a Kaia FIT Coach
  • Leave the veterinary field to pursue a career in health & wellness full-time
  • BQ at California International Marathon

I accomplished all of those goals this year, except the last. Which is now a goal of mine for 2015. I want you to think about this year ahead of us, and think about what you did in 2014. Instead of making a resolution, set goals for yourself. Setting a goal means there will be a finish in site, something you have actually accomplished. A resolution is a decision to do something or to behave in a certain manner. Which goes hand in hand with a goal. You can make a resolution to be healthier, be nicer, or stop smoking…but without a plan of how to do those things, without an end goal, it is an empty promise to yourself.

Why have I only now started setting goals for myself? I think it is because I now know what I am supposed to do with my life. I want to be known (and when I am gone, remembered) as a person who changed lives, helped people become healthy and be a positive influence on my community. Getting into running has helped me realize that setting & accomplishing goals is important. We all have something valuable to give!

Today was an easy 4.5 miles:

SLO & OC Marathon Training Easy 4.5 Miles

My legs are really sore (because of yesterday. Thanks to Kaia & Sally) so when I got home I just laid on my stairs for a few minutes. Then took a picture of myself because I thought it would be funny. I’m probably the only one.

I have some big goals for myself in 2015:

  • Finish back to back marathons (SLO & OC Marathon)
  • BQ at the California International Marathon
  • Pay off debt
  • Build my business as a health and wellness consultant
  • Read more

The most important goal of mine right now is to build my business. I am so happy to have this person in my life to support me with this goal!

 When I made the decision to leave my current job in a field I have been in for 8 years he did not hesitate to fully support me. He knows how happy I am when I am coaching, and training and sharing the benefits and opportunities of being a consultant. I know 100% that this is what I am meant to do. So I am really looking forward to working hard and seeing where 2015 will take us. I know I will be successful. You can’t go wrong when your goal is to help others reach their full potential.

I want to say thank you to my readers/followers. I never thought, when I started this blog 2 1/2 years ago that I would meet (in person and online) such supportive people. It was never my intention to continue this for so long, but here I am. And I’ll continue to share with you my training, races and life in Sacramento.
